What’s the enhanced CPP? What will it do for those awaiting second round Hogan’s at XJT?

I expect positive changes in Xjet’s CPP program in the next month or two.

For now, I am where I am. That could change if the Ejets move over to Xjet and upgrade time drop to new hire like they are at CommutAir.
At CommutAir, nothing happens as far as the CPP goes until new hires finish IOE. After that, they can request the Hogan and then schedule an interview. They changed it to the current system about 6 months ago.

They stopped the up-front Hogan and interview thing at CommutAir a little while ago. There isn't too much difference that I'm aware of now. The main reason why the CPP is fast at CommutAir now (despite United taking a much smaller percentage of hires from CommutAir) is because it's a much smaller and more junior pilot group there.

There are around 200 people in the CPP pool at ExpressJet now. The junior people in the pool are probably 2017 and 2018 hires. Over 200 people went to United through the XJT CPP in 2018, so if we see similar numbers in 2019, we should start seeing very junior people (3 years or less) moving on to United by the end of 2019.

There are a few other factors at play, like people passing their second chance attempts, and former ASA pilots who will soon become eligible for their first attempt.

Wonder when second chance Hogan’s come out? Anniversary of OCT 17 for unsuccessful interview and no word.

Boy, some may ask where the koolaid infusion stations are? And if it's required that you be bent over for your daily infusion.

Here are some facts for people considering XJT over C5.

XJT Total Pilot Count
6/1 - 1865
7/1 - 1824
8/1 - 1769
9/1 - 1687
10/1 - 1642
11/1 - 1597
12/1 - 1541
1/1/19 - 1502
Today - 1490

We are still owned by INC until the deal closing. Let them pony up the dough before you consider this place. They have the ability to offer $40k in new hire bonuses. If you're already on property they are not going to retroactively give you any big new hire bonus if one becomes announced.

Right now we are advertising "up to a $17,500 bonus" on expressjet.com

CommutAir is offering "$45,000 sign on bonus for pilots with applicable hours" on commutair.com.

If United is serious keeping this place around, let the free market force their hand.

Thanks for clarifying how CPP works at CommutAir. This is close to what I heard. Basically, you know early on if you are bound for United and don’t have to waste your time at CommutAir if you don’t pass United’s muster. I expect this to come to Xjet soon after the close.

The seniority list shrunk by hundreds this year. IE, Expressjet is further from staffing 126 145s now than it was a year ago.

I bet the morale at Expressjet has risen quite a bit, being out from under SkyWest's boot - but I also bet that's largely due to hope of growth, not actual growth. There's a great chance it will grow, but it has been doing the opposite of growing. Flight time at the company, as a whole, is down 38 percent YoY.

Whereas Commutair has been adding about a jet per month for the past several months.

I think Expressjet will grow "big league", but it just hasn't started yet, and as such is somewhat of an unknown.

By when do you have to make a decision?
