Headset

Are there specific headsets that ExpressJet allows (or requires) its pilots to use? I’m unfamiliar with the TSO requirement that I’ve heard about, but I’d like to get the Bose QC35 and the Harmony headset from UFlyMike. I’m used to lugging around tons of extra bags and equipment from my military travel, and if I’m looking to travel light. If I can pare it down by having dual use headphones/headset for dead heading and to use while flying, I’d like to do that.

the company has 3 DC's in every plane, and you can bring your own no problem. Whether it's TSO'd or not is between you and any feds that may care to ask. The Harmony system is TSO-pending (I think you'll have to mail it in for the individual test/sticker once they get the all-clear from the FAA), so probably not a bad investment if you want something that's easier on the ears than a DC headset, and easier on the skull than an A20....

I went with a Telex 850 and don't recommend it. It's not quiet enough; this cockpit it freaking loud for a jet. I have to wear earplugs underneath to make it tolerable.
The on-ear DC with active cancelling I've heard are good. I've also gotten good feedback on Clarity Aloft.

Thanks everyone. I’m an devout sunglass wearer with a narrow head so the A20 tend to not seal around my ears while wearing glasses. Without glasses on I love the 20’s (atleast in the t props I’m flying now). Thinking an in ear headset would be a good option ie ProFlight. Haven’t heard many positives towards the pro’s but noise canceling is important to me. Not ruling out the CA’s though but any advice is appreciated. Only want to make the investment once. TIA
