Grey area. But plan/expect them seeing everything.

What doesn't make sense to me is that if there is something in your background that United deems to be un-qualifying, why'd they go through the trouble of interviewing you in the first place? Seems it'd be a better use of resources to scour your records first for any black marks and turn you down before the interview instead of the other way around.

Not picking a fight, just making an observation. While I work at XJT, UAL is not my top pick for a destination so I don't have much of a dog in this fight anyway.

First, UA doesn't owe you any explanation. I bombed the first interview and didn't get an explanation. Second. The folks saying they have no idea why they go dropped out off the cpp during the final review. I guarantee there is a good reason. Some are embarrassed to admit. Some ticked off. Also, I'll have 4 fried chickens and a coke! :D

Maybe it’s because they thought this person was worth interviewing for the position but said person did not step up? There is so much animosity about this hiring but there are a few voices in this forum that are really screeching negativity without taking a step back and thinking about how much they’d probably suck to fly with under said attitude. I certainly know that there are two voices in this forum I hope to never fly with as I’m sure I’ll just be told over and over why being a pilot sucks and everything sucks and it’ll only get better once you get to the next level, which I disagree.

This X1000. That attitude can be contagious and toxic as well.

Some here act like they should be grandfathered in because they currently fly United passengers on United owned planes. Give them that and they’d be the same people ranting about how their original date of hire at their regional should have been honored. The many new hires that I have met have all had great attitudes and spending 4 days in the cockpit with them would be no problem. Those complaining the loudest are most likely those who wouldn’t get selected. I’m glad. Spending 4 days with someone who is nothing but negative makes for a long trip. The bottom line is that we are not owed or due anything. Those currently employed at the majors are there because of a huge amount of luck that their name was somehow selected from a very large pool of highly qualified applicants. After that they jumped through every hoop that was requested and showed their employer why they would be a good fit. There are a ton of applicants competing for a few jobs. The key word here is competing, not waiting. Attack every company out there like it is the only company that you’d consider working for and be grateful if you land a job at a company that you’d like to retire from. As the industry evolves the rules may change, but for now this is how it is.

That’s the thing, United is that fat, unattractive chick at the bar at last call that thinks she’s a nine.

How long have you flown in the airlines or with this company?

There’s only a few chicks left in the bar and the fleet is in town. Regardless of how hot she thinks she is, there is a long line of people who are wanting to nail her. She can afford to be selective.

Except the fleet isn’t in town. Our new hires are drying up. I highly doubt this lipstick on a pig is going to bring the new hires in.
