And are you really comparing XJT with the other carriers you just mentioned? Is that because that’s how you see yourself? Bwahahahahaha!!!!

Keep troll'in. If that's how I saw myself I'd be at Skywest (Baby Mainline!) ;-)

I don't even need to compare XJT to the mainlines. Just take a look at the likes of Envoy, PSA, Endeavor, Republic, Skywest, etc. They successfully get many of the career oriented folks. The recently graduated career guys/gals choose a place with flow, pay, work rules and lots of modern air frames (E-175). They have their pick of the litter.

As someone who has done IOE on folks ranging from 25 to 59 you are making a huge generalization.

I had 25 yr old IOE students struggle just as a 55 yr old. It all comes down to recently of experience and background.

I can also tell you (from personal experience) that since February the new hires are outstanding. Most are completing IOE in under 40 hrs.

That's wonderful news. As I said, much comes down to effort put fourth and recency.

Is anyone at United paying attention to the type of pilots C5 is hiring? I noticed last week, pilots that didn’t shave in over a week. Most of them look unprofessional. Everyone that I talk to that has jumpseated in the cockpit has some horror story about their experience. I hope there is not a merger plan in the works with XJT.

No merger between the two. UAL seems to be setting up the same type of deal that AA has. Own a few regionals and keep them separate. C5 will be the 145 operator and Xjt will be the 175 operator.

This^ The more operators the better. Compass and GoJet was just notified today that Delta flying is gone. So GoJet will be "exclusive" to United and likely get the CPP. That and Compass is said to be bidding on 20 175's for United so add another regional to the frey to scrap it out.

Delta is leading the way with only 3 regionals. Endeavor, Skywest & Republic.

ExpressJet has the best E145 operation in the industry and United either does not grasp that simple fact or doesn't care. Safety has never been a priority for United regional partners. C5 had a crash landing this past winter and United rewards them more flying. :)
