Where were the samples taken? The coffee reservoir where the FA dumps in a gallon of Crystal Geyser or the lav tank?

I'm almost 100% sure the coffee water is not coming from the potable water truck on the ramp, but is a separately filled reservoir. However... Maybe it's worth asking my FA on my next trip

Coffee water comes from the main water tank which is filled at the ramp by the water truck. There is no separate reservoir. There is only a filter between the reservoir and the coffee.

Wrong! On the E145 it’s a separate water tank that is indeed filled by the FA’s with the Crystal Geyser water bottles. I spent 10 years on the 145 at Xjet.

However.........that tank is still 100% disgusting. I’ve seen black furry stuff inside the tank. Pouring fancy water into a filthy tank and running it through a filter isn’t good enough for me. Not to mention....I’ve heard horrible things about the actually pots the coffee ends up in.

I'm going to keep drinking it, when the FA makes it correctly with 2 coffee bags or makes a half pot with one bag. The one bag full pot stuff is way too weak.

Considering the amount of hotel coffee makers I drink from, and how dirty the flight decks are, I think I am immune to just about anything by now.

I’ve never had a hotel with an actual coffee pot. Just those single cup makers or a Keurig.
I’m sure the reservoir is gross on those things too.
