It sounds like this one came straight from UAL.
It did. But that doesn’t mean their wasn’t some back room negotiations by SKW. My guess is this was to fulfill the multi class jet agreement that Skywest made when they sold XJT. UA scope isn’t changing any time soon and this was the only way make that agreement whole. |

This makes absolutely no sense.
Why go through all the costs of delivery/training associated with the 175 just to dump it? (If those 175s wind up at SKYW, Imma throw things.) |

The slide deployments, massive sick calls by senior ASA pilots and other issues didn’t do us any favors. Only operating 25 would have made the program too expensive for United’s liking. No way they planned to bring them here just to remove them. That’s terrible PR. somehow I don’t think many TSA guys will come here if they can find a home at SkyWest in Denver. Why step from one sinking ship to another? |

They better move quickly because I’m not sticking around much longer just to have to go back to training again for another type rating without substantial improvements. If I go back to training for a new type it’s to fly heavier metal for more pay not the opposite.
My thoughts exactly. |

Probably just wording that Skywest gets the planes if XJT couldn’t get the program up and running or fulfill the reliability requirements.

This isn’t Skywest’s fault anymore than it’s our fault TSA is going down.
The wording from the sale was for the NEXT batch of dual seat flying and there was no IF or WHEN attached to it. |

It sounds like a united strategy decision heavily influenced by what’s going on at TSA Holdings while we all operate in a pilot shortage environment. Way above and beyond us. We did a flawless introduction of the 175 to our fleet and took delivery of all 25 in just one year. Hats off to our training department for that exceptional feat.

Can you imagine having gone to XJT to fly the 175? Lmaoooo 🤣🤣
