United wouldn't have asked for concessions from XJT to match C5 if they didn't want XJT. Think about it. If it TRULY was all based on costs, United would just shut down XJT and grow C5 when needed.

This is what is happening - United is using C5 as a pawn to get XJT to take concessions. Once this occurs, C5 will shut down (as already planned).

You must not be a very good negotiator.
There is always more than one level....

Finally... our partners are actually noticing AND we have a seat at the table! Smooth sailing from here on out..

spot on.

Also, if it was a real competition, why not bend c5 over further, and ask for concessions there as well? Who wants to go back to $19 an hour? First one to raise their hand jeeps their job! The fact that C5 hasn’t been asked for concessions tells you all you need to know.

There is nothing to negotiate, it is no longer a pilot's market.

Kirby is doing the exact same thing to XJT as he did to Envoy.

United asked Expressjet to cut costs as it would be a pain to transfer aircraft and cancel contracts. If expressjet could cut costs then this wouldn't happen. C5 was already moving into ORD this year to cover expressjet flying. From what I can see expressjet was going to be shrunk to a one base airline (IAH) before covid. If expressjet did disappear Skywest could easily cover IAH with CRJ 200s they have spare from Delta.

Expressjet was dying before covid came along.

Many more regional airlines will fall in the coming months , unless 45 and his comrades decide to print more cash . Even with that , it’s all just temporary.
Flying 3or 4000 block hours a month won’t cut it for no body .

Completely false. XJT was shifting flying to open DEN and expand pre covid. Also why didn't C5 get XJTs old XRs from TSA then? You have no idea what you are talking about.

Pretty sure this was while the 175 was ramping up so they were focused on staffing majority of that flying allowing C5 to come help cover. Should have no problems with ORD now that those 175’s are gone.

C5 didn't get XRs from TSA because they were already getting yours!
United had to dump them somewhere and you were it.
Also, the start of the end was losing your 175s to MESA.
