Does anyone recall the pay rate for ASA new-hires? $1200/month if I remember correctly?

$300/week and no per diem until you start IOE, then you get MMG.

What if as a regional pilot wanting to go to a major, I want the outsourcing to end?

The regionals have their place and reason in the market flying the shorter routes and less capacity. Regionals are part of mainline airlines running a money making operation. If they have to fly DC9 or MD88 to the little airports there costs will go up so guess who's pay will eventually go down to remain profitable? Personally I'm against 100 seaters to the regionals because I believe mainline should fly those size aircraft. The scope is a completely different topic while I was speaking soley about pay rates on our < 76 seat aircraft. There is absolutely no reason to increase pay rates at a "huge" rate when a FO that's been at the company for a couple of years can gross over 60k if they feel like working more than average. Pay increases due to costs of living and inflation? Yes! But anything more than that, not nessecary. Increase pay a huge amount, and get the company to agree to it somehow, and plan on growth stoping or possibly shrinking. Follow that up with sitting in the right seat for 10 years building that ever-so-valuable SIC time putting most of your mainline opporunities on the horizon.
You're not getting it.

What stops mainline management from operating all aircraft with their brand? Our attitude you just spelled out in your post.

Yea, I think I remember that number. What was Expressjets monthly pay scale for training?

XJT is a single per-diem payment of (i think) around $1500ish. No weekly pay, so bust your butt not to extend your training!

Your MMG begins the day after you pass your PC.

On average how long would you have to make this payment last?

From the time you get to IAH until you finish your PC and LOFT should be 6 weeks roughly.
