Since last month you (and your family) get both UA and CAL benefits if you're in CAL bases.

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone know if parents and spouses get flight benefits with ExpressJet? If so, on who?

As far as I understand the whole deal, the spouse and children have the same pass travel benefits as you do, obviously except for the jump seat privileges. Your parents may have an extra fee attached to it but should be the same carrier (not sure on the fee). Also, they all travel on different boarding priority unless you are travelling with them. Besides, after some time (6 months or so usually) you and all your beneficiaries will get other carrier pass privileges - (ZED Fare, ID90, etc.) Please don't quote me on the details since I've never worked for XE or CO and I know every carrier has slightly different rules. I used to work for HP/US and used this a lot (especially abroad) and it works fantastic (familiar mostly with ZED Fare). I hope it helps. Feel free to PM me with any detailed questions. Also anyone more familiar with XE benefits please correct me if I'm wrong.

That USED to be the case. XJT used to "piggy back" off of the ID/ZED agreements that CAL had. That's not the case anymore. As part of the ongoing divestiture that started with the IPO, 69 airplane removal, and 2008 CPA, those agreements have dwindled. For the most part, there are no OAL agreements anymore.

Pilots in IAH, CLE, and EWR have both CAL and UAL travel benefits. As crappy as they are. ORD based pilots ONLY have the UAL travel benefits. Because that's the way "CAL wants it". It also applies to pilots DH'ing. It sure is funny though, when the company has to move a pilot bad enough, for some reason it doesn't matter where they're based or what operation they're supporting, they'll put you on either CAL of UAL to get you there. Getting you back though, you can be S.O.L.

That is not cool at all what you're saying. ZED is a great benefit that my family and I used to use a lot. Do you know if ASA has the agreement and if it possibly can come back after the merger is completed?

we are working on it. We were only given a few weeks notice by CAL that they were completely giving us the shaft with these "revised" pass benefits. We will have zeds and id90's but as of right now we do not.

Yep, I've used the ZEDs/ID's to go places that CAL or UAL simply didn't go. And now I don't have access to them anymore. Seriously, when you're an airline employee, even with the crappiest of travel benefits, and you NOW have to buy a ticket to visit family is just a snapshot of how far down being an airline employee has gone.

I believe that the ASA people do have them as I guess they "piggyback" off of the DAL agreements. Or so I read somewhere. We can only hope we get them back when the merger is done

IMHO and not to sound like a jerk or anything outside of the norm, having a 'few' altitude/speed variations and being a DOT ( emphasis on DOT ) off here or there on loc/g/s is something you might want to be a bit concerned about in the future should you get, and I most sincerely hope you do, past the interview...In the future this will only annoy and completely irritate whoever it is you're flying with ( if it's consistent, with no move towards correction ) and, not to mention you will NOT pass your checkride. Just a fair warning ...

These guys have probably never flown a CRJ sim before, not all of us were so awesome to be perfect from birth. If you make a mistake, make a correction.

Someone who thinks they are better then everyone else might just "completely irritate" every guy they fly with too.

Hint, you.

I'm certainly not better than anyone...and that was the crux of my statement, mistakes happen just make sure you correct it. Thank you for proving my point ?
