Nope, But what i am getting at is that it is very easy to get complacent with this job. As an FO ask questions, pay attention to the decisions that are taking place. Dont just be a ride along for the capt.

yes it is easy to get complacient, I do ask questions myself, but what the hell does that have to do with your airplane being on fire or another similliar emergency situation...you are misunderstanding the topic in this discussion...It's about hrs vs competent pilots...not your typical, when to divert crap.

Regardless, Hours don't make the pilot. Hours usually adds to experience but i have flown with pilots with all sorts of flight times. Low times don't mean better pilots and high time doesn't mean better either. The individual is what makes a competent pilot or not.

I do believe the hiring mins are ridiculous. It should be FAR 135 mins. JMHO
