To put it simply, they, as is with all major carriers, only accept time logged as PIC "when you have signed for the airplane". So that explains what they require, but as mentioned above, the 1000 TPIC requirement has changed..

Apologies if I've missed this somewhere else in the forum or on this threat, but another question relating to FedEx mins / what is preferred.
Straight from the website for reference: "1500 hours total fixed-wing time as pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command (SIC) in a multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof with GTOW 12,500 or greater. A minimum of 1000 hours total fixed-wing PIC time in a multi-engine turbo prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof in aircraft with GTOW 12,500 or greater is preferred."
Is the 1500 hours in an aircraft with a **GTOW of 12.5K** or greater a hard requirement? The way I read it, it is a requirement, but as a military fighter guy with low overall flight time, I end up in sort of a weird scenario so I figured I'd look for some input. Breakdown below..
I will have 1500 total hours (slightly more), and that will include over 1,000 PIC in A/C with GTOW of 12.5K or greater (Approx 1200-1300 all PIC). But I will not have 1500 hours (PIC or SIC) in A/C with a GTOW of 12.5K or greater. About 300 hours of my total flight time are in A/C with a GTOW of less than 12.5K.
Seems to me like I'll have the 'preference,' but not the 'requirement.' Obviously it might not matter with such low total flight time anyway, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks!

Bump....
Just researching the forums regarding FedEx PEs. Any new info to share regarding them?
Quick background....In my mid-30s, been a 91/135 guy my whole career. Great equipment/flying, but becoming for too unstable for me and my family. Aircraft ownership changes, schedule instability, lack of retirement, to name a few of the big ones....I'm ready to throw in the towel and try something new.
I have several buds at FedEx and they all absolutely love it there. I don't think there is a more stable gig out there right now that can handle dips in the economy and a pandemic to boot! I'm also a SoCal guy who would like to remain here and it seems FedEx has a strong presence in LAX and now OAK.
I put my app together a couple weeks ago and had it professionally reviewed. Once that was complete, one of my aforementioned buds put in a PE for me. We used to fly together as well so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
Is there a typical timeframe from when one gets a PE to an interview invite? Months, years, anywhere in between? I heard recently that there has been a shift to where they are now weighted more heavily than previously before. And this is something new, supposedly in the last few months?
Thanks!

Could be months, could be years.
Results will vary greatly.
Make sure your Personal Endorser either:
a) Goes into see their fleet Captain or
b) Emails them to confirm you're within the "Zone of Consideration".
