I-240 and Airways, shooting...

The only takeaway suitable for sharing here is common sense, in any part of any city in any state in any country. Don't flip off another driver, even if he flips you off first.

I feel a lot of sympathy for the victim- I learned a valuable lesson, though. As someone relatively new to Memphis, I'll contently drive 65-70 mph on 240 with my blacked out tint and let people cut me off all day long. Apparently this is not the place to teach other drivers by being aggressive. I'll let them pretend they are qualifying for NASCAR and be on my way.

In all seriousness, and I was being serious about driving with traffic, I had an incident late one Friday night. I had to brandish my weapon to stop the escalation. Two men got out of their vehicle at a red light after they tried to cut me off near my exit off 240. Because of this I try to select trips that don't return late on Fridays or Saturdays when everyone is high and drunk.
I couldn't agree more though, don't do anything to provoke aggression. You never know who you're dealing with or whether they're armed.
Also, I think most locals have no idea who we work for when they see us in uniform -- unless they're rampers and most rampers are good people working hard to make a living. In fact I think most locals think we are police officers or security guards.
