Default New Safety Vest Policy

I prefer not to wear the vest but will since it’s now company policy. Perhaps we should add a bike helmet of the same color since there are tripping hazards too!

I figure there’s gonna be an uproar over this one but as an FO I could care less... just means I put my vest on before getting off the bus instead of immediately after

That was the plan all along, divide the pilots in half. Wait six months screw the other half.

Don't sweat this one.

Sweat it when they come for your Emergency Fuel Reserves.

Rumor is they're about to be lowered.

If a Capt wants X lbs above Emergency Fuel, he'll still get it - but of course you'll have less fuel.

And less options, when the real world turns out different than the assumptions on your release.

You may want to become more familiar with the Low Fuel Quantity portions of your QRH.

You won't have much time to review them in holding.

That seems short sighted. I REALLY don't like running low on fuel (I kind of feel like contingency fuel is MY responsibility).

It seems like just a few diverts would defeat the purpose (saving money) of less fuel. And since I've never had to continue my pairing after I diverted, it seems like extra pay and HUGE recovery costs!

Tripping over change to save a ....

MM

Heard same thing.. something about emergency fuel not being a set number but a time instead. And that time varies by location.

Company punting risk to the pilots in a move to save $$.

Anyone else see a trend??

In this case though, every individual Captain REALLY DOES have the Final Word.

Gas = Time

Time = Options

Who likes Options??

Don't fret about time. If you dont have enough fuel to buy more time, then just divert......Diversions cost money especially when your freight misses the sort.
