So I’m guessing the pool is drained!? Good info for potential new hires.

I don’t think completely but close, might need one more class after September 24th to fully drain the pool but nevertheless it’s good to see some movement!

In person. Same process as prior to COVID.

Its actually from a very “in the know” source. We retire 185 in 2021 and gain 8 airframes if you look at the fleet count. I think he is truthful.

How many pilots per new airframe are necessary?

Have folks been called for October classes yet?

If you rank the 75 over other widebody aircraft (and presumably awarded it as a new hire), are you seat locked for 2 yrs? I ultimately would like to get to the 76, but I don’t think my last four will support that, so I was thinking about putting the 75 second, with the plan to bid up to the 76 in the next system bid or two. It looks like there are rumors of a system bid happening sometime in the fall, but I’d imagine my chances of getting a 76 in that bid would be slim to none, and I’d likely have to wait for the next bid in a year or two.

No you would not be seat locked. You would likely be able to get 76 on the next bid available to you...barring some earth shattering change that I can’t predict. In my new hire class every 75 person that wanted to bid out went to either the 777 or the 767. If you’re on the 75 then the training to move to the 76 is a breeze...makes for an easy transition. Good luck!

How long after your new hire class was the next bid? If there is a bid as early as this fall, it would potentially be only a few weeks after I start, so I figured I’d be too junior to hold whatever vacancies they have in the 76.

The next bid is rumored to open early September and will probably close the end of September. I don’t know if you can bid while you’re still in training or not. If you can, you would be able to hold 76 during this bid I would think.
