Class drops..

Last system bid showed its being downsized via attrition. Once it’s gets below their staffing numbers, it should have openings. Company likely wants 26.W to have ended as well, but that’s purely my thought.

Completely false. The company benefits on many levels by having a pilot base in HKG/Asia. The fact that they continue to pay HKG pilots housing allowance, $250 per night for hotels in SFO, AND living expenses more than 6 months into a temporary relocation speaks to the fact that they don’t want it to go away. They will mitigate issues whilst Covid restrictions are in effect, but as soon as HKG shows signs of relaxing quarantines (which may be a while), they will want pilots back in HKG.

The Company guy from scheduling, when asked directly about a new APAC base, said that the company is "looking and examining all options" but that the four natural choices were going back to Guangzhou, Clark, Inchon and KIX.
Now, the reality is about 30 seconds of analysis suggests the positives and negatives of each. Frankly, I suspect it will be Clark, and ever 55+ year old guy is going to bid it to relive his glory days until he finds that life in the RP is a young or retired guy's game, and we aren't a bunch of Navy Chiefs with family hookups.
An APAC base makes lots of sense. The question is one of location. Even ANC makes more sense that double DHs into theater. Of course, that's why ANC -11s is shrinking, but I don't second guess the mavens in Memphis.

no. I’m not sure what this is showing but no new hire will hold captain anything at FedEx. To date, all MD11 and most 67/77 ITU has been given to new hires while pilots already on property are being denied training. The wide body newhire train is about to slow down.
