Default Another Vacation Question

Does anyone on here know if we are allowed to slide and/or expand the same vacation in two adjacent months?

I have vacation that spans the August and September bid periods. Am I allowed to slide and expand to the left during the August bid period processing and then a month later expand the same vacation to the right during September’s processing? This is obviously assuming I still had some credit hours left after August’s expansion.

Never had this scenario before and don’t want to learn the hard way.

Thx.

You can slide once. You can expand on either side, so yes, you can expand in August and September as long as you have vacation days in both months.

Careful though, you will be able use the total number of hours that coincide with number of days of vacation. So 7 days 42hrs. If you use 20hrs in expanding one month you will only be able to use 22hrs to expand with the next month. Even if you have more than 42hrs in your vacation bank.

If you have 7 days of vacation, you can expand up to 48 hours. The other thing you could do is slide your vacation 5 days to the right, expand in August to knock out the trips you didn't want to fly, and then anything that touches the days in September would go away with pay regardless of the number of hours in your bank. A lot of ways to skin this cat. It just depends on how negative you want to go in your vacation bank.

Obviously the OP has more than 7 days of vacation, or he wouldn't be asking the question the way he did.

Just to clear I have 7 days of vacation 26 August to 02 sept so I can slide 5 into sept and still expand back into August with on 2 is days in August left? Trying to expand to kill a 14ish hr last trip in August and get the max off around labor day.

I read the section and it says verbage relating to standard expansion rules, so I am wondering if i need to leave 3 days in august to cover a 14 hr trip?

Two days is enough to knock out 14 hours.

I chanced it and slid it 5 days and it still let me know the 14 hr trip with only one day left in Aug. I guess it does not matter the days in a particular month but just the overall days allowed.

That is correct. Now, you can expand up to 34 hours in September, or how many hours touch the vacation days in September.
