I don’t believe that OIM was negotiated. I think after USP signed their deal, the union went to the company and told them, the company in return made an offer which the union accepted. 🤷

Be careful what you ask for with a virus thats out everywhere already.

Simple, they keep increasing premium until it gets covered. But no one should be forced to fly into these areas if they don’t want to and they shouldn’t be paid any less than 68/85 hours to opt out of that specific flying.

So just curious, whats your thoughts on UPS’s LOA? Go to their forum and see how many they have screaming. Oh and by the way my buddies at UPS said they have not had a single pilot get a China trip with the 150% pay.

I can't imagine why FedEx Screw scheduling is simply dropping R days for Pay for those who indicate they don't want to fly to China per the OIM.

Would be so much better if they called to assign you a trip possibly departing in 90 minutes only to learn that you're opting out of China trips...then on to the next guy, then the next guy, and so on.

Hard to predict what FedEx would do if you received a Reserve assignment and then foolishly said, well I don't want to go to China. Or...I was just about to call in sick.

Best I think you could hope for would be an irregularity report and a required Doctors note.
Worst would be R days dropped without pay.

But at least you'll have been able to avoid China

They’re dropping R days with no chance of China flying (groups too short). Where they are overmanned, they are taking the opportunity to save money and not pay someone. This could have never happened before the OIM.
If I were sitting reserve next month, I wouldn’t back out of China flying and break the days into small groups (4 days or less). No way they could give you a China trip. Not a great option for commuters, but at least you’d get your RLG.
But, if you didn’t/couldn’t break up the days, I’d just accept the fact that I’d get an irregularity and call in sick after assignment. Then I’d get a doctors note.

Do you see any unfairness in this process?

Yes I do. The company has never had the ability to remove your R days without pay just because they were overmanned in the seat and see a chance to save money. That’s total BS and I’m sure wasn’t the intention of this OIM. I know they’ve been doing this in the MD, I wonder if they’ve done this to Airbus pilots (no chance of China flying).

Sorry FXLAX, thought this was directed to me...

Since we are locked in our hotel rooms in PVG and CAN, will we be reimbursed for our room service charges?
