I am not sure how common it is, but I was told that you could get a second passport and the company would pay the costs associated with it. This is so you can keep flying while getting a visa renewed. Now, I am not sure if the two countries that require us to have a special visa will issue a visa for each passport, but I may test the theory next time my passport gets close to needing renewal.

I am brown and have 2 passports. U can get a form letter from ops to give to the passport agency justifying the need. They will not pay for the 2nd one but makes it so ez during visa renewal time.

My experience is only one passport gets the visas. The other is the backup.
