Lots of whining here. We have the survey that will be ignored. It was nice to find out our MEC gave up our first-class tickets etc. While we secretly hold the crew who sued and won in high regard. We do nothing but keep voting in our corrupt MEC officials. Vote their asses out. Post the lawsuit up in the AOC to let them know their asses do not smell like roses and the fear they have of ALPA reeks. Go ahead and call me a troller, but bets you won't pull your head out of your rear to even take a second to see how divided we are and how corrupt our MEC is. If $500 lunches with management is not a indicator then what is. I am willing to bet we vote to screw ourselves over again. We get paid no matter what so what the hell does it matter if we wait a little longer instead and stick together-but we will not.

Shortfall2015's gone as a website, but we never did read a plaintiff's settlement, did we.

Negotiating 101....would you ever take the first offer that a car dealer slid across the table? There's always a better offer than the first!!

The TA isn’t the companies first offer. They negotiated back and forth with the negotiating committee. What we see isn’t (shouldn’t be) their first offer. It’s the culmination of back and forth negotiating.

I agree with the statement Of not excepting a car dealers first offer, but it’s not comparing like to like.

When I am in shops in counties where haggling is the norm, I always ask how much. No matter what they say, I wince in pain and say Oh, No! That usually gets them to a new starting point 10-15% lower. Then I start negotiating. I have done that for all sizes of items.

Its not the first offer when we get it to vote on. Hints the term negotiations and the years it takes to get us something to vote on. The NC does the negotiations with the car dealer and we just come in at the end and say yes or no. If we say no we drive our car we arrived in off the lot and return to try again in a few months.
