Rona was the best thing that happened to Fed Ex and UPS. It’s been peak since March. Online retailers having multiple regional distribution centers give customers same day or next day delivery with no Rona risks. The carriers get the business with delivery and returns. When Rona ends, I feel people will still shop the same way. I feel passenger carriers are going to have problems for a long time after Rona is gone. Business’s have reduced T&E expenses with Zoom, and Go To Meeting. Business travelers accounted for the bulk of passenger airlines. Companies seeing the profit increases from reduced expenses will continue with virtual meetings. One company I invest in was down 15% in sales YTD. Their profits were up 4%. It was from using more outposted employees and reduced travel expenses.

If FedEx leaves China we no longer need 20-25% of our pilots, so yes that would be news. You seem like an angry little man.

That would be an extremely foolish business decision, and possibly even the end of the company. Which means no more pension check for you. Good thing pilots aren’t making the business decisions!

You are a moron. I was joking. You really think anyone has a input into company choices? You do know this is a BS forum and bs opinions? If you get any info from the site, well then, good luck. You do know a select few make a few $ off of people posting here. And no one is ending any pension check from a post on a forum. But good luck reading the crap people post here, mine included.

Or could it be “this gal must be fun to fly with.”

FedEx is NOT going to leave China. I asked our CEO questions about China. He said most of the world’s industrial manufacturing takes place in the HK SAR/Guangdong Province and it would be financial suicide if FedEx pulled out of China.

He did say that many of our customers aren’t pulling out of China, for now but they have started a campaign of ABC, “anything but China” when looking for new or additional manufacturing opportunities considering the future and potential instability in China.

Moving the airline’s crews out of HK is definitely a possibility but would greatly impact the CAN hub. IMO, the OAK 767 base with 767ETOPS is a backup plan should the HK crews be grounded or continued disruption between HK and CAN.
