Sorry, I was referring to unaugmented operations. Currently, 117 allows operations of two pilot flights to block up to 9 hours when show time is between 0500-1959 LBT. If we were to come under 117, our contract’s unaugmented block time limitation (or any other more restrictive limitation) would not go away.
So what is that limit? Are you saying it is 7:35, or is it something else? If it is something else, how does it differ from the FAR limits we currently operate under?

our contract has a provision that scheduled above 7:35 requires a third.
if we had 117. This would not change contractual requirement for 3rd pilot over 7:35 block.
it’s not hard.

Read the SIG notes and make sure your colleagues know the Disputed pairing process. No excuses
I’m sure you will hear plenty of “ I had no idea” from all seniority. The union sends out emails with the SiG notes with the disputed pairings attached or they can be found on FDX ALPA site.
Inform your friends and colleagues where to find the info if they are unaware or just blind.

So maybe qualify your comment next time so that no one has to try and read your mind.
The fact is that the contract is written by attorneys. Even the sections that seem to be plain and simple are always so. Ask me how I know. And sometimes it comes down to precedent or intent when the language was negotiated and written. So even for a person who has been here 30+ years, I invite them to ask the question rather than assume. In the meantime, maybe you can volunteer to teach a contract reading course?

The “me” attitude of some is appalling. No need for the company to stab you in the chest when your brothers/sisters will stab you in the back. The selfishness of some in this group is unreal. No effort to follow or uphold the contract by us line pilots. Its our own fault. The SIG disputed the pairings and we will chop their knees off like we did the last 3 months with people picking them up. You want to find your enemies, well they are amongst us throughout the crew force. They don't know a thing about the contract or wanting to uphold it, but they know everything about getting draft. ME ME ME. All the while complaining about the CBA. Sound familiar?

If you knew the contract and the history of section 12, you would understand my line of questioning. And I agree, it’s not hard. But now you and FXLAX have misquoted the contract and implied that it has a restriction that it doesn’t have.

It looks like you need to review the contract, because that is not what it says. There is a requirement for an augmented crew for bid pack international trips with block over 7:35, but that is it. You are stating that we can’t fly 8 hours domestically or internationally without a relief pilot which simply isn’t the case.

This spirited discussion is interesting to read. Some have it right, others are a bit off. The real focus should be do we want to fight for a pound of cure/ getting things back this time, OR do we want to get involved on the frontend and spend an ounce of prevention? 1% of our time on the frontend saves a lot more time on the backend. Thus the reason I am asking on the other threads to please get involved and contact your reps.
I believe you will find No RFo's domestically and the 7:35 limit is for international segments, but I might be wrong, I'll have to look that one up also.
