No no no, the problem is these darn millennial new hires. Haven’t you heard?

I’ve no kidding had a captain say to me “it’s up to the FOs to get us a contract, I’ve done enough sacrificing in my career”

What did he say when you confronted him about it in person?

I didn’t do that because you’ll get fired if you do. I was extremely short with him when he asked me a question and then we left the room. He could tell I wasn’t happy with him. Did he understand why? I don’t know.

I tell the FOs this all the time because it is true. I’m sorry that you don’t like it. The new hires since C2015 have the majority now. This isn’t the old FedEx where Captains hung out with or knew FS.

Happens on the crew bus all the time. Usually done after the guys get on the bus, one after another and immediately b!tch about how much they hate Memphis, meanwhile the driver was born and raised Memphis and makes minimum wage I venture. Lack of SA and humility is appalling.

Same thing at UPS. Bragging about their 6 weeks off and all that loud enough for everyone to hear.

I have heard of a noticeable uptick in blocked calendars from pilots picking up trips. Some of the reserve guys watch the open time trips to see if they can expect a call and more often then not there are blockers picking up draft. We used to say there are many reasons to block and it is 100% a personal right afforded by the company to each employee. We used to say those reasons were not because they were hiding their workload. What do we say now?

What other reason would one have to block their calendar? I agree it’s absolutely anyone’s right to do it, but if I see a blocked calendar I just assume it’s because you’re ashamed of your draft addiction. If you’re gonna do it, at least own it.

I know of one that had a company romantic relationship go sour….I’m sure there are other reasons
