Lack of Leadership. This is an example of the lack of leadership from our MEC about which I am concerned. Last time I checked we are part of ALPA and we are in section 6 negotiations. Why are we excluded?

"When ALPA pilots stand shoulder to shoulder in support of shared goals, people notice—our airlines notice. That’s why on September 1, we’re asking all ALPA pilots to join us for an ALPA-wide informational picket to show the public, our lawmakers, and our airlines that all airline pilots stand together in support of the profession-wide goal of improved working conditions and benefits.
ALPA’s Strategic Preparedness and Strike Committee is assisting eight MECs in planning informational picketing at 16 locations across the United States and Canada right before the Labor/Labour Day holiday weekend. All ALPA pilots are invited to join any location.
On the schedule for September 1, the Delta, Endeavor, JetBlue, Sun Country, Spirit, United, Encore, and WestJet MECs are working out details for events at ATL, DTW, LAX, MSP, JFK, SLC, SEA, BOS, MCO, LAS, SFO, ORD, IAD, YYC, YYZ, and YVR.
Mark September 1 on your calendar to stand in unity with fellow ALPA pilots and demonstrate our resolve, pride, and collective strength to achieve pilot goals. Look for additional details in future issues of FastRead and communications from your MEC/LEC."

If we had Leadership on Kirby, why would they Let ALPA national try to brand us as second class pilots? Do we not fly the same aircraft? Do we not fly in the same airspace? Do we not have the same circadian rhythms? Do we fatigue differently? Are we not in section 6 negotiations?
So why then did ALPA national not include our MEC as part of the national day of informational picketing? Did the ALPA president forget he is a retired Cargo Pilot? DO we matter, other than paying our dues? DO we have one level of safety and one level of security?
It is time for answers.

Can we please get back to the issue here, Leadership?

I choose option C--“None of the above.”
I have an idea, why don’t you engage your reps and/or committees and get the answer from the horses mouth, instead of relying on SGOTI.
HvyPurplePilot and I were satisfied with the answers we got, and BrianH was not (surprise, surprise). Maybe you should get the facts, and form an opinion based on that instead of some random internet message board posts. Isn’t that what we pay dues for?
