How many of us know that since the informational picketing event, the MEC held a week long meeting in MEM? And during that week, there was a joint council meeting. Very few can say they knew about the meeting as less than 20 line pilots attended. Thankfully, there were a few more attending the PUB event, you know the one with the free beer.

When are the pilots going to demand the MEC start leading. I even had a conversation with a management pilot who was disappointed with APLA's leadership.

There are forces trying to "get to the finishline" as fast as possible quietly. I get the money cost of time cost, but I also understand the time cost of money. If we have the highest pay rates for one day what did we accomplish? If our work rules degrade and everyone passes us again like in '15 who is to blame? Do you remember how we worked through Covid? How many of us are still locked down around the world? Do we expect a best value contract?

In the end, You will get the contract you deserve, and every TA is an IQ test. So far we are not testing well. And we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Oh good, you're back. Was starting to wonder if you fell off the face of the earth. Of course, you have nothing new to add except throw spears towards the ones actually doing the work.

I'm going to yell this one for everyone in the back: YOU HAD A CONVERSATION WITH A MANAGEMENT PILOT AND WERE *****ING ABOUT ALPA LEADERSHIP?! Way to go player, appreciate the help! At least we all can see whose team you are really on now, if it wasn't apparent already.

Yup BrianH is on his own team. I love the motivating participation by slamming the leadership. What a joke.
The DART was privileged information and will be shared once the union decides it's ready for public consumption. Sorry BrianH, you don't get to share that info with your management pals.

One thing is for damn sure, we are in a much better position with BrianH on the sidelines.

I mean, he inferred that the union put nothing out about meetings beyond the picketing. I’ve seen emails about all of the events since the picketing event. NORDO is an exaggeration and this entire thread undermines the progress that we are trying to make, which we were specifically asked by our union not to do.

You got a problem with communications? How about contacting your rep and discussing it?

Come back to the podium when you have something substantial.

I will say that this is the quietest contract we've had in my 20 plus years. Usually, we are getting ALPA emails at a much more robust rate. There were weekly or bi-weekly negotiation briefings videos with updates. There was a calendar of upcoming picket events. Weekly encouragement emails to help us encourage those that need encouragement. This time around it does seem very quiet. Not sure why, hard to put a finger on it.

I respectfully disagree. I think things are actually accelerated this time compared to the last 3 contracts I've been here for.

I'm old, so I don't know if I have the dates correct, but the last contract Section 6 openers were, I believe, in January 2013, and we didn't have our first picket event until the fall of 2014, some 20+ months after openers. I remember marching on Wall Street in November of '14.

I like the pace we've set this time around.

Could be the case. I was expecting this to be quicker since we really did not have a bunch of sections to open up, so my expectations were high for a time line. Maybe the negotiations are moving forward. But we still have to go through the Annapolis stage and I see peak coming quickly already. I was with you in NY. That seemed like a odd use of our manpower, but what do I know. At least it was something...pilots in a small box.

nothing wrong with challenging the system.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Call to Action is just another term for illegal job action. Our Union Cannot Call for people to work to contract. Idiotic isn’t it? Telling People to simply comply, 100%, with their contractual obligations is considered an illegal job action?

I’ve continued to be impressed with Delta’s products. This is another one that’s darn valuable.

The crappy reality is that RLA stacks the deck against us. Labor law over the past few decades stacks the deck against us.

It’s early days. If you’re truly willing to wait and take as long as it takes to get a contract, then show some patience.
If you will, we’re kinda still in the preseason, and there’s a reason nobody plays their starters for the whole game in the preseason.
If you take the time to read your Union emails (NC update earlier this month), or go to Our Contract2021 website, you can see just how far we’ve progressed. Really just the biggies left. If no apparent progress over the next few sessions, wouldn’t be surprised to see another picketing session in September…or in November as we hit the 1 year anniversary of our amendable date.

Deadheading - I would be happy to go back to the prior contract, we gave away first class in the current contract
Pay - this needs to be high double digit % year one increase
Perdiem - government rates for each city and adjusted each year
Retirement - no pancakes, 50% of highest captain rate at 1000 hours
Duration - 3 years

I will vote yes for these changes
