I know usually I’m a critic of yours, but thanks for posting this. At least now maybe others will call their reps like they should and stop accusing me of lying just because I’m not willing to put info out there on a random, public message board.

In Picketing video NC chair says we had better have a contract by august or we are going to start Fighting. Huh? Why is august now the date? Should have been may and we should have started the “fight” last peek when we realized it wasn’t going to happen. His comments don’t leave me with a lot of confidence in whatever plan there is.

He means we need to have an AIP by August to be ratifiable by November, similar to last time, before peak. I agree we should've started "fighting" last November, but that didn't happen. My guess is if we don't see meaningful progress in Section 8 by August, then it's not looking good. The big ticket items close out relatively quickly, although with retirement such a big focus, I'm not sure that's the case this time.

Take a look at vacation buy backs in September. All of the seats had been there for quite some time...not anymore. The seats that remain....

I’ve brought this up in other threads. What makes you believe a contract now is better than after Delta? I would think the company would rather have it finished before delta gets one. Also, if you were king at ALPA National, why would you want us to get a contract before delta?! (And that’s probably giving too much credit to anyone at National while they collect a WB capt paycheck for clicking their mouse in a cubicle farm and probably have very little control over this issue). We are traditionally a more stable sector, hence why we probably got a longer contract than anyone else last time and why they would table us and put capital into other airlines first. Not to mention pattern bargaining. It’s our turn to go last.

I’m not for one or the other. Playing devils advocate here. Personally, gun to my head if I had to gamble on if we get a TA before or after delta I would pick after.

It is my hope that we go after, but I'm willing to bet we have a lackluster TA before peak just to keep the planes moving. Voting will close shortly after peak, of course.

I agree we should have taken the clue when the company offered a bankruptcy error retirement LAST NOV. Our MEC choose to not lead that fight. WE let that stand.

So now they are saying it better be done by the end of AUG or else.... Well how is that going to work? Will the MEC suddenly start leading in Sept? We are not hosting an ALPA wide 9/1 Informational picketing event is support of all ALPA pilots in sections 6, including us. We are the only cargo "A" carrier in ALPA and we are staying on the sidelines while the rest of ALPA stand united. How do we look to the rest of the industry, and the company? If it is too hard to stand with our fellow pilots in support of the collective goals, How do you think this is going to end?

ALSO, and AIP is a really bad idea. It can be said that the AIP in'15 is the cause of our increased Grievance Committee budget from $385K/ year in '17 to $600K now. It can further be said we did not do well in the final language of the AIP, you know the things that got worked out later like quality of life issues.

ALPA got the money up front. Funny how that happens.

We need a complete TA to vote on, not vague language that will be negotiated later. To vote for an AIP again is fooling us twice. We know who's fault that will be.

GOLD STAR for seeing that nugget. Interesting, it is like they expect something to change right then, HUM....

I too would like to go "after" for a change. I don't want the highest pay rate for one day, week or month. Especially when Quality of Life issues don't seem to have much O2 right now.
