UAL MEC Resolution Rescind Support INSLER
#12
Sorry for the new thread. But since your MEC is supposedly voting for Todd Insler I thought it was appropriate.
C5 Update.
MEC Meeting Update
Your officers have been LAS since Monday attending the MEC meeting. Day one of the meeting was outlined in last night’s MEC update detailing the reports that were presented.
Today the following resolution was floored:
Therefore, be it resolved that the United Master Executive Council hereby rescinds its previous endorsement of Captain Todd Insler for the office of President of the Association, and;
Therefore, be it further resolved that the United MEC will not endorse Capt. Insler for any other ALPA, International office or for any role, and does not support of any role for Capt. Insler at ALPA, International, including Executive Administrator.
This resolution had the support of the following councils: C5-EWR, C11-DCA, C12-ORD and C173-GUM but failed on a roll call vote 5316 FOR and 5338 AGAINST with one abstention.

Today is the Presidential debate and all of the MEC reps will get a chance to listen to the two candidates. Likely, your affiliated with the Delta pilots to assist their candidate by throwing out political information and are attempting to influence the FDX MEC who will make informed decisions based on what first hand information they receive.
They will likely confer as an elected body to discuss what is in the best interest for 1 - FedEx pilots and 2 - ALPA pilots.
Political manipulation from an anonymous web board is a simpletons approach to an important decision. Likely not to influence in any way the FDX MEC.
I hope your candidate prevails.

The UA guys are in a bad spot because of Insler and they are trying to keep FDX from being integral in putting all of ALPA in that same spot.

They ARE cleaning house. They don't control the timeline, ALPA does and it works about as well as any bureaucracy. They are warning us that their house is dirty. I'm not sure why you guys have issue with that.

The UA guys are have always struggled with 'freedom of speech' protected by the Landrum Griffith act and radical group of malcontents who can not accept nor tolerate that their ideas have no consensus or support.
If you want the for ALPA Int'l then they are willing to bring their chaos too.

Incorrect. Why? Because your posts don't even make sense, Todd.

If the concern is that you’re getting this info about Insler on an “anonymous” Internet forum why don’t you ask some United pilots in person? Surely most all of us know at least SOME personally? I’ve heard personal testimony from every last United pilot I know that reflects precisely the grievances against Insler that have been brought up here. You know that saying about “when there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
Feel free to believe you’re being manipulated by some nefarious campaign conspiracy to get the DALPA guy elected. Seems a little more simple than that to me and I appreciate the effort United pilots have made to warn other groups about this guy.
