no they didn’t. We’ve only been surveyed once in the last two years and that was 3 months ago. They still haven’t posted the results, and if I recall correctly, they didn’t even have scope as an option or discussion point available in the survey unless you wrote it in.

Who cares who is to blame, right? Sure, it is our fault as line pilots for not polling properly, that we did not foresee the things that MEC Union Leadership should foresee when it comes to protecting our jobs. Fine, I'll take the blame, as long as FDX ALPA wakes up now to the issue of Scope. This round of negotiations. Not Next.

We need to use all options to get back to the table asap and open Section 1, along with deleting our concessionary language - which has not been sent to a TA yet. New industry standards have been set in pattern bargaining, and we are still in open negotiations. We should use the opportunity we have received in our favor. By that I mean we did not have a TA last year with the company's best offer then, it could have passed and would have sucked.

The Company is suddenly **** poor after how many years of record profits, stock buybacks, etc...? I don't think so.

I find it hard to believe the blame lies with the union on not achieving the May 1 year “goal”. That lies in the companies basket. To say otherwise would indicate you are on the companies side. Only two sides in negotiations What side are you on? Do you think the company was offering things acceptable to us in May 2022? Let’s point fingers in the proper direction at the company not at each other.

regardless of who is at fault… the targeted approach did not work, and the negotiating landscape has changed in the last 9-10 months. To not change our ask to reflect both of those developments is not representing our pilot group well.

I’m not an expert on this subject, but I find it hard to believe you could walk in and completely change everything and not have a negative outcome with the NMB.

I mean it worked for Delta just a few months ago with the NMB mediator...

We negotiated in good faith, the company didn't. We have a pretty big leg to stand on when it comes to the NMB.

Question as a pax guy on the outside looking in. Can cargo use pattern bargaining off of pax? I’ve been told by reps that the NMB doesn’t allow pax to pattern off of cargo. Curious if you’ve heard about it the other way around.

Really? What new sections did the Delta MEC open? What were the improved changes they made to their asks? Any documented proof you can provide?

Just to be clear, you are saying that DL re-opened already-TA’d and/or opened previously-unopened sections while in mediation? I would love to know where you are getting that information.

Ok, so the above trips are how long and credit how much? Are they commutable? Do they have front end or back end DHDs in Business or First? Can you also use a hotel in lieu of DHD between two of these trips and stay abroad?

So let’s agree that neither are better or worse but more dependent on where you live (delta base or not in mem) and so whether commuting matters or maybe if you have small kids and don’t want to be away from home for 7+ days at a time. But both will have body clock swaps. My thinking is that on the passenger side you will have one maybe two and on our long trips you can have multiple. To me minimizing those swaps are beneficial to my health. But maybe that’s just me?

Well, let me answer your question with the same type of response you would give a year ago. Have you asked your rep this? What did they say?

I mentioned all my concerns, including the ones I’ve mention on these forums, on all the surveys I’ve take, phone and internet. I’ve had discussions with my rep about results of some of the surveys and he said that he was also surprised that it indicated a focused negotiation. But I didn’t ask him about revisiting items if the TA fails. I assume that there would be another survey if that happened to find out what the pilot group requires to ratify. So, can you now answer my question. Would you be for revisiting all other sections or specific additional specific items like scope and others?
