That is an incorrect statement. They had all those items on the table entering mediation. We didn’t.

PM has been on full time flight pay loss for several years now. The targeted approach has failed. It’s time for the NC to present the targeted approach failure to the mediators and communicate the desire to negotiate a more comprehensive contract in line with changing pilot needs, Scope being issue #1. At that point the current failed NC should return to the line and let a new team lead. Any MEC reps who don’t like this plan should resign or be recalled and let a team with a forward looking vision lead.

Has PM brought a substandard TA to the pilot group yet?

Maybe they should. And then they should recommend a NO vote based on the changes to management plans and industry standards that have occurred while the company dragged their feet (again). That may be our best bet.

I trust PM more than our pilot group

So, is your LEC on board with this plan? If not, are you getting a recall placed on the agenda for the upcoming LEC meetings?

Ask PM why he can't do that. He'll give you a pretty good answer.

If you already know the answer, please share. TC is the only ALPA rep that will answer any questions.

UA im not sure what the NC diatribe you went off on has to do with anything. Are you mad that the negotiating committee is not flying full-time? Do you not think they’re doing full-time work during negotiations? I would make an educated guess they are working more hours than we are as line pilots. As other posters have pointed out why don’t you step up? I saw a posting for numerous elections over the last few months. Was your name on the list? It’s obvious you believe in an approach that entails opening numerous sections. That, however, was not the opinion of the majority of pilots in the surveys it sounds like. Get over it you were in the minority. The majority wins. This is the basis of a union vs being a none union pilot group. Like pinseeker pointed out show up and recall them or shut up. Talking like a tough guy on the internet about people behind their back is cowardly. Professionalism

I think the bottom line is the targeted approach failed. The NC has made it known they have not negotiated outside of what was in our openers and the scenery has changed drastically. Section 1 was opened by the company, not by us because apparently at that time we didn't desire improvements, and if that isn't an example of a drastic change in scenery compared to what our goals were nearly 24 months ago then I don't know what is. IMO the bottom line is without drastic improvements to Section 1, the other 27 sections don't matter.
