ASL, scope, and you...

I know a lot is happing on Jetflyers right now but some important scope dissuasion's are scattered about and its vital no one misses the big picture.

FACTS:

1. There is currently no scope protection in our CBA for international cargo

2. FDX opened section 1 (scope) during negotiations

3. Section 1 opened 09/2021 and TA on 09/2022

4. ASL Holdings company is based in Ireland for ultra business friendly tax and labor advantages

5. ASL 5 year CA rate is 78K and FO is 39 Euro / hour

6. CGN ASL operation started with only 5 operational aircraft with TNT acquisition



TIMELINE:

1. June 2021 ASL announces an additional 20 737BCF

2. March 2022 ASL orders an additional 20 737BCF bringing total new orders to 40 aircraft

3. March 2023 FedEx announces DRIVE initiative to cut 5 billion in expenses mostly from Express division. Plans to use more ground transport and contract air freight in effort to cut costs

4. April 2023 FedEx announces CGN Base closure and plans to "support 757 EU flying from Memphis”

5. April 2023 Richard Smith at informal retiree luncheon, mentions that the 757s in Europe would be coming back stateside.

6. April 2023 ASL acquires Pionair Australia to "expand Australian and Pacfic ACMI operations"


These data points individually might be a coincidence but holistically leads me to believe

that APAC is next after they are done with Europe IMO

 

Yep, All our 777's will be domestic in 5 yrs according to your doom and gloom.

Replace "DHL" with "FedEx" and that is our future if we continue to ignore SCOPE

 

ASL also flies for Amazon, DHL, and UPS. Their fleet is not now nor will it be 100%dedicated to FDX uplift.

Our scope is trash no doubt but there's a whole lot of FUD!

These @#$ have bought back stock, increased their dividend, and made record profits the last two years. Now all of a sudden the house is on fire?!! GTFOH
The economy is nowhere near as bad as people are forecasting. This summer has a better than outside chance of being a blockbuster for consumer spending and travel. There's a ton of pent up demand. People spent two years in the house.

We are in contract negotiations they are doing EVERYTHING they can to make certain we do not achieve pay parity because their wall street masters will punish them by selling the company stock.

DO NOT FALL for this. It is a tactic. It is devious and cynical.

This entire system is setup to F#$% labor. IF we buy what they're selling that's exactly what we will be. DO NOT PANIC. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT!!!

HOLD FAST AND IF THEY WANT TO SHUT IT DOWN LET THEM!!

 

How many routes will we lose and how many bases will close before it’s no longer FUD?

 

I share your sentiments. This realignment bid is not as bad as many are making it out to be either. The number are being adjusted based on the last bid award and not what’s currently activated in the seats. That realignment bid should have been done instead of the last huge hid we had. Nothing to fear here.

That's exactly what makes it FUD man. You want to get all worked up in to a tizzy and get everyone else all worked up because you're scared of what might happen. Go ahead. That's what they want.

Yeah we should have scope, but all the rest of this noise people are making is nothing more than panic and fear.

They cannot take away the marketable skills that I've spent years cultivating. They can take my job that's it.

That's all they can take from you too.

I'm not afraid of this System Bid or their threats or their plans.

 

whether it’s FUD or not, scope is the most important hill to die on.

 

I support you on that point 100%. Just not the rest. I've never seen people's resolve crumble so quickly.
