The monthly bid pack number only shows pilots eligible to bid and is irrelevant as those numbers fluctuate month to month with pilots out on MED, ADMIN, etc. The bid seniority list will show a vastly lower number than the amount of pilots in a particular position (especially on a super-senior airplane like the 777).

This is a reduction of current seat-holding CAs not a reduction of the last system bid numbers.

the timing is suspiciously convenient isn't it.

Scope is important, but don't get distracted.

All the conjecture is what they want. They're gonna take all of Europe. APAC is next. They're cutting the crewforce. 4A2c is coming. Run for the hills!! Meanwhile the union is offering little to no guidance on what this means or the implications. so people start speculating to the negative. No leadership. Social media is a powerful tool is it inform people instead of *****ing about it.

So what's your count of current seat holding 777 CA in Memphis? If you want us to be concerned what are the numbers.

I am not sure but the system bid 21-01 indicates that there would be 655 777 CAs. Wouldn’t their number be 655 if that’s what they were reducing CAs from?
minus retirements of course.

Im trying to figure this out as much as everyone else.

NO IT IS NOT!

The Master Seniority List in VIPS SHOWS about 506 Captains. Many of which are now retired or out on Medical, etc. this list will be updated in ~ 76 days (1 Jul) removing the retired captains.

Sadly, 25 Junior pilots will lose their upgrade slot to MEM B777 Captain. Didn’t check numbers for ANC. (Good research project for you to post). The bottom 40-50 pilots have not started training. Luckily they should be able to hold B767 Captain. But trickle down effect will mean some pilots will lose their captain slot.

There was 1 or 2 retirements since then.

And of course the COVID feeding frenzy is over for cargo.

Next move by company is termination of deadhead MOA!

Exactly the point I’m trying to make. The reduction is based on the 2021-01 award of which most haven’t even been trained.

I think you’re wrong but I could be wrong also. Even looking at the Master Seniority list, we only have about 400+ CAs on the 777

I don’t get why anyone is having such a hard time with this. If you want to know what’s really going on just look at the extreme example of M57F. It shows 182->362 current to min. There’s 339 on the master list TODAY.

It’s based 100% off the AWARDS from 21-01. That is where EVERYONE is bidding FROM. Check your emails, they explain it there.

Some people will have their previous awards cancelled, but there are many ‘reductions’ in this bid that represent pilots who have not even trained yet.
