It does look bleak here, but how much of that is calculated to psy op us into hoplessness during negotiations? It's so convenient for the company and they are using it to full advantage. 200K used to be good money until the government managed to destroy it's value. Now it's cut costs and live like a (former) regional pilot, think about not starting a family and try not to own anything. Or choose between providing for your family and your own retirement. Maybe you can move in with your adult children some day. Once the boomers get done destroying entitlement programs the rest of us may be stuck funding our own medical and social security so tack on another million dollars or more needed in today's purchasing power. It's sad that my schedule is going downhill as I increase longevity, and appears I cannot win the game by flying the line here. Perhaps that is why guys are selling out to get jobs and flexes, managers, or even ALPA to avoid flying full time. Taxes and inflation are destroying my purchasing power, including on assests I have sacrifice to purchase, and I'm gradually going broke. The company refuses to give a raise. Guys at. work can't stop talking about their lake houses, collectable cars, and airplanes. Some of them admit that the younger guys are hosed and others are still telling you to vote yes now. Low single digit millionaires are going to be the new losers of the future who can't retire. The company is turning up the heat to make us work harder for lower purchasing power. Anyone wish to die young to get BLG? The fatigue committee is retaliating againt people who use the program. But most won't. Why should a commuter bang out fatigued on a night hub turn in OAK and pay for a hotel, have the pay deducted from their sick bank at the company's whim, and endanger themselves in the purge zone of California on the way to said hotel.

I left for a Legacy after 2+ years at Purple and also couldn't be happier. The choice is completely a personal one, but for me it was the right choice. I already have nearly double the pilots below me on my current list than I had at FedEx and am rapidly approaching the same overall seniority %.
The wave is slowing down everywhere so my one bit of advice is that if you are thinking of moving do it sooner rather than later. I lost about a month by my internal debating and that cost me nearly 300 numbers. I think at this point all the cards for FedEx are out on the table. It's either going to work for you or it isn't. If it isn't, cut bait quickly.
Without putting FedEx down I can confidently say nearly everything, except maybe vacation which is still improving under the newest contract, has been better for me in pax land. The things people tried to tell me were horrible at the pax carriers just haven't been a thing. The information was outdated or blown way out of proportion. JMHO.
Good luck

I still come on here hoping to see good news for purple pilots. I still chat with some of my classmates to see how they’re doin and wishing them the best. Gonna miss my FDX days, but also glad that I made the jump

Nice. I left for pax after just under 2 years at FDX. Hardest decision of my life, but as of late I feel it was a great decision. Got the base I needed, and I enjoy the day time flying again. Yeah, I’ll work my butt off but my future was looking challenging if I stayed on at FDX
