Add: if you don’t wear your tie then union life will go on. It is a choice you made best for you, the same way WE (yes, you are included in that) voted down TA1. You do you, if the request is too much.

To answer your query, I saw the tie effort for what it is, a unity effort. It is absurd to expect total compliance, have we gotten compliance on last ALL IN lanyard, don’t see it.
If one wants to encourage a unity message against the harsh reality of a 50/50 split membership, picking a mechanism that is: 1. Petty, 2. Divisive (and the fact that this is opaque to 1/2 proves the disconnect), and 3. Has no discernable visibility or impact on those this "unity" should make an impression on, is folly.

Wear your tie. Own your view. Not gonna hear anything from me passing by.

I would like to encourage a Unity message against a harsh reality of a 50/50 split- Please offer a suggestion and then Dart it in.

Your statements sound certain. How did you arrive at a 50/50 estimation?

Default International tie usage?

Anybody know how crews are dealing with not wearing ties internationally? Wear thru customs and security and then remove on way to jet or not wear at all?

The uniform shirt with epaulets, ID and uniform pants aren’t enough? A lack of a tie is really gonna be an issue?
Other than the officials laughing to themselves. You guys are doing what to get a contract?

No one notices or even cares for that matter.

Just an FYI, I've been based in all 3 x FDAs (back when FDX actually had FDAs). Forgot my tie plenty of times. Not once was I, or anyone else, ever denied entry/exit to/from a country because they didn't have their tie on. You're really overthinking what the person behind the plastic shielding thinks about your uniform here. We show up in winter in ICN/PVG/CGN/CDG/Etc with 3-4 different windbreakers on. And then theres the Virgin America pilot uniforms from back then.

Maybe you'll have an incident where the Aussies don't take your sunscreen from you, the French don't take your can of Monster, depending on if you have the clip-on tie on.... maybe not, but more than likely not

The choice to wear one is officially your choice now, the company put out an FCIF about it. Not suggesting anyone wear or not wear the tie either way, you like how you look with the tie on. You want your shirt collar to last longer before turning yellow in SE Asia in summer. You wear the clip-on and don't like doing the top button on your shirt collar. Is omitting a 15 dollar polyester piece of the uniform going to wake up the company into paying us what UAL/DAL make now? Probably not. Is it more comfortable and one less thing to pack, I think so.

But worrying about making it from the hotel and to the plane or from the plane and to the hotel....because you're out of the US and decided not to wear it isn't an actual concern.

What are they doing? Trying to show unity. Meanwhile a bunch of one way clowns run their mouthes on a dumb WhatsApp chat group and are literally trying to get paid less. Crazy!
