My message to whatever you call this temper tantrum going on is simple.
Stop.
Stop what you’re doing.
Stop moving forward.
Stop installing people.
Stop conspiring.
Stop making back room deals.
Stop firing and hiring NC’s without notice.
Stop disenfranchising the very people you claim to represent.
Just stop.
The message from the latest NC Chair installation said he’s planning on moving forward with aggressive bargaining. On whose behalf? Not me. I don’t even know what his positions are. Didn’t two MEC reps just get put up for recall? What are we doing?
If things are going to progress this way, the lanyard is coming off. The tie is going on. Until they stop and catch up to the aircraft.

In April of 2016, four FedEx pilots filed a class-action lawsuit against the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The suit alleged that ALPA breached its duty of fair representation under the Railway Labor Act by engaging in misconduct during the negotiation and ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with FedEx. In January 2017, the court denied class certification, limiting the case to the four named plaintiffs. The suit settled on May 12, 2017, with dismissal with prejudice on May 15, 2017. Settlement terms were confidential and did not include an admission of liability by ALPA, which denied all claims and stated the resolution allowed focus on "protecting and enhancing pilot group interests."

Here is my thought process:
The recall of the NC was a late agenda item. That means they didn’t plan to discuss it ahead of time. Is it just me, or does that not strike you as a consequential decision? Wouldn’t it behoove the representatives to take the temperature of their constituents to see how they feel about it? And then return to the council for a vote? In my view, it was incumbent on the MEC chair to see that was a pivotal decision and table the matter for the MEC reps to deliberate the idea with those they represent. The fact that he didn’t shows a dramatic lack of discernment. But that is the charitable view. That it was just a lack of discernment. Which on its own is worthy of impeachment because it effectively disenfranchised anyone who had no idea this was even on the table. Are we democratic or not?
The more sinister option though is that he was in on some conspiracy to count votes behind the scenes and topple the NC Chair through a procedural mechanism that circumvents the will of the majority. What other reason is there not to shelve the idea and let the reps talk to their voting bloc? Maybe he doesn’t want to do what the voting blocs want? And how do we already have a new NC that just so happened to be the only negotiating committee member that wasn’t fired. I wouldn’t be surprised if AB wasn’t in on it. And if there was indeed something to be in on, then I’m sorry. I don’t trust you. I don’t trust any of you.
Speaking of which, why did LEC cancel their in person meeting in front of those they represent. The whole thing smells, and I want answers. If you can explain it, fine. I want a strong union. I’ll come back and support it. But until then, I’m out.

I agree. This was done as an inside job. Why did it happen? We don’t know and seems like we won’t get answers. If JG was misrepresenting the MEC and the group as a whole then why didn’t they address it before going into their own rogue action? But to now find cause to blow up the union again? This I don’t see as the prudent action to combat what was just executed. Hopefully and explanation or causality becomes more clear in the coming days. I’d suggest reaching out to your block rep and expressing your opinion on it. To make sure they understand what sentiment and thoughts are coming from the segment they were elected to represent.
