FWIW: I have not ever heard of anyone getting an FDA against their will.

They can't force anyone to an FDA.

Any invites to interview go out recently? Anyone headed to interviews in June, yet?

Question

Follow up question for ya! do you (or anyone else) know if there is a pool of pilots that have been approved for an interview (by their review board) that they pull from when they offer these dates? So theoretically, if a person has been approved to be called in, they might wait in line for a date slot to open up?

$100/hour min pay year one. Housing allowance $4500 min (currently 5026) in HK...$3500ish in CGN. $15,000 per family education allowance (per family, not kid). $10,000 seed money when you activate.

That's about it. Its not for everybody, and you won't get rich doing it. Our contract with the info is not password protected as is at fdx.pilot.org for your review.

Thank you for the info!

Thanks. Any "incentives" to do this? Be tough living in HKG on F/O pay...heck, maybe even Capt pay.

Yeah, it would be tough. Second year F/O pay about 200K, with 54K housing allowance. Don't know how anyone could possibly swing it, that's starvation wages over there. Even at 300K+ Capt pay, they'd have to be living in a tent.

Well, since 2nd year pay is $163 Hr it's not quite $200,000. And since HKG is in the top 10 most expensive cities in the world to live in, can you say $10 for a beer?, I don't think 163,000 a year goes as far there as say in Minot?:rolleyes:

Have you lived there???

Nope. Not Hong Kong, nor Minot. Would have considered Hong Kong, if it weren't for my dogs. Though I have talked to people who are making it work well in Hong Kong, enjoying the life. Can't live in a McMansion, but that's the trade off. Los Angeles and NYC are on the top 10 list too, but they don't get a stipend.

And you can still get a lot of beer at $10 a crack, though I doubt you pay that in the grocery store. Fortunately bidding an FDA is a choice, and there seem to be plenty of takers. Maybe they just drink baijiu, or tea:cool:

$10 a beer? That's true...in a bar. Everybody knows the best place to drink in Hong Kong is...any 7/11. Guinness,Heineken, Asahi cost about $1.50. The great thing is there is a 7/11 literally every 100 yards. Just keep walkin' and drinkin'....
