Many (but not all) straight 121 guys have LCA experience. I haven't looked too specifically, but almost every military guy hired has some IP and many have evaluator time as well.

There are exceptions to every rule, but for 121 hopefuls I think the LCA qual or training experience are big helps.

Thanks Albie, I always appreciate your input. The 1000 tpic was Canada's version of part 121, but since it was techincally not part 121 I don't get to log it as so. And it was in a turboprop.

Fortunately I am upgrading on the 767 soon and will have a chance to get some PIC time there.

Does anyone have any info about the MEM job fair in May?

Any idea where newhires in the next few months will be going? I heard 757 domestic and (some) MD-11 only. Any newhires going straight to HKG or 777?

Sounds like we may all know more in a few weeks.

Only to the 757 until the next bid closes.

Hong long would a newhire have to wait before getting HKG, if he/she wasnt given HKG right away? Thanks

Let them know you want to go to HKG and you will most likely go immediately. Otherwise, it would be on the next available bid.

System bids at Purple appear to be substantially less frequent than at many of the passenger carriers.

The last open system bid was in early 2016, and the next one is rumored to be occurring this spring. There have been a handful of smaller, specialized bids in between that time (a bid to fill Euro 75 seats, a 76 Capt bid, etc).

They did put new hires in the A-300 and MD-11 this month (Jan '18), but most are slated for the 757.

Heard from Flt Stnds for Feb for the system bid. They do seem to drag them later in the spring but they had a board meeting last week.

Thank you all re HKG/System bid. I have been doing contracts in Asia and would like to come home. But the fam is not ready (respecting my wife's career wishes). Getting HKG would be ideal but sounds like it could be MEM for a couple years too. Any advice?
