Sounds like another SS admirer...let me know how that works for you.

As for an axe to grind...call it what you will. He lacks leadership, backbone, and his record of not attacking issues decisively has backed us into concessionary positions on many fronts.

My info came from 2 block reps...as for who has and hasn't commented, go to the website and see the different block letters.

As for the agenda...I'm part of the Dave Webb conspiracy that is in Bed with George Bush against these pro company socialists running our Union...we want to decert ALPA and join teamsters!

Thanks for giving me that much credit...I want real leadership and Reps that run the MEC and the NC, not 2 out of 3 of the officers.

SS admirer? I guess I shouldn't dare question someone who suggests wrongdoing without facts or details. I don't have any loyalty to SS or anyone on the MEC. But I am skeptical of anyone who posts without any substance. If you want to sway people you need to provide those facts and details, otherwise it's just noise.

Go to MEC website. Also check MEC meeting notes (May telephone conference notes I believe) about a
Position that was taken by the NC and agreed to at the table but when MEC was briefed on, it was pulled of the table. Ask your rep specifically about that. And take note about the small comments on discussing using 777 jump seats to stage crews...

I would also ask your rep (any rep) if a vote was taken on a telephone conference call about how to deal with the retirement proposal from the company. It wasn't rejected and dismissed immediately for the POS that it is, but it was considered heavily. Vote was closer than you would like to reject it.

Some scary facts out there. It isn't all noise. Good luck in your search.

I wonder how well that would work out if the 777 captain exercised his PIC authority and decided he didn't want to carry jumpseaters on that flight?

Probably would be accompanied by a change to the FOM. Those grey seats in the back wouldn't belong to the captain anymore. As it stands now, JS admin routinely books people on the 777 without ever getting Captain approval.

Booking by jumpseat Administration and "Flight Deck Authority" are two separate animals, and FedEx pilots, of all people, should know that by now.

In the B-777F, there is no "back" that is treated any differently than the "front", the cockpit. With no cockpit door, all seats are governed by 14 CFR §121.547, "Admission to Flight Deck." Pilot in command permission is required.

Without the door, ALL the seats belong to the Captain.

I wholeheartedly agree. However that is not how the JS admin reserve the seats. First hand experience

And my point is still that how an administrative department of The Company "books" seats is irrelevant.

Captains can always say, "No."

In fact, if they aren't cockpit eligible the Captain is required to say no.
