Default POP questions

If one is getting POP now, does it just stop on November 2, 2105? Or maybe they are grandfathered?

If a junior pilot has already received a training slot and finishes prior to November 2, does the senior pilot get POP under the old contract only until November 2 and then nothing or is he grandfathered?

If a junior pilot has already received a training slot and activates November 3rd, does the senior pilot (whose awarded training date keeps slipping into late 2016) get NOTHING for the 6-9-12 months abrogation of his seniority? It seems he would never see even a single SDP payout since the slot taken by the junior pilot would never show up in a November 2016 training slot bid since that slot has come and gone a long time ago.

Will those who have recent awards and late 2016 training slots be able to bid for an earlier training slots come November? Or is that just for postings after the ratification of the new contract? And if the awarded training slots are denied more than once (I am thinking over and over and over in multiple training slot bids due to the company needing bodies in certain seats), is SDP paid more than once?

Seriously? Does anyone see anything where scenarios started under one contract and finished under another are addressed? Shouldn't they be?

The company will interpret it the way that saves them money to your detriment. Even if there seems to be clear language, they will do what they want and make us grieve it....which we always seem to lose.

I try to read every change as what is the max negative the company can do and I expect them to implement it that way.

It was in there. Not sure where I saw it though. You choose how you want to continue. Really did not follow the new bidding section though. I'll have to read it again.

This section is the most convoluted peice of crap I have ever read. What ever happened to trying to get rid of ambiguities within the contract language, instead we've added this "slot denial payment" mess.

This is a section that will potentially cost many pilots, myself included, tens of thousands in POP. As new hires go through 777 training I am forced to delay my training back to the 777 until some time in 2017. This is not my choice and if given the opportunity I would take the first training slot available. So the 50k question is.....with this new slot denial payment system, how many "SDP payments of 3k" will the company be paying someone like myself until my activation on the 777.

And yes this is my first post.....

The way I read it is they only pay you once. You could lose lots of bucks while they keep training new hires into the WB seats. They could hire into Capt seats and make one time payments. It is a huge can of worms and you know with the company's track record, they will abuse it.

If I read this section correctly, this is a major give back and windfall for the Company.

I know guys, who because of the initial HKG and CDG bids, who were getting POP for 3-4 years. That is a ton of money and cost the Company dearly. I would guess many hundreds of thousand $$.

Now they can worry a lot less about seniority when putting out and awarding bids and it will cost them a minuscule fraction of what they currently have to pay.

This, along with the possible major increase in insurance premiums due to a formula for calculating our costs that are way to fluid, and probable efficiencies they gain with other parts of the contract that are not cut and dry, I would guess that this isnt a TA that is cost neutral for them but one where there is a net positive.

It has been said over and over, but for a company that has been profitable forever, this is a total insult to the crew force. When are "we" going to say enough is enough!!!

My friend was on alpa conference call today and they said Passover pay from last bid would continue. Section 24 mentions a transition period of 10 to 30? Months. I just got training moved back a long time so I want an exact answer.
