A Perspective and Opinion of the Current TA
#11
I don't ever remember Dan as being an SCP. I remember him as the 727 boss who got passed over for the SCP job by DB, assumed by many because Dan was not a yes-man but a pilot-friendly manager. Is my memory wrong?

You are correct. Dan has been in the 777 training department and the Bus before that. But why should Mayday let the facts get in the way. Reminds me of an old saying. " Better to let someone think you a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. "

I've had the pleasure of being taught by and flying with Dan V. I'll vouch for him anytime. He is a line guy at heart, who did a management tour and actually tried to make life better for us line guys at FedEx, rather than take care of himself. He also gave up his daytime cubicle flying job and came back to the line and people still like him. That doesn't happen around here very often--who trusts or wants to go flying with BM or Zero?
Dan V has huge stones for posting his opinion and his name on this open forum.
He is just pointing out the fact that this TA even sucks for the retirement eligible guys, whose votes both the company and the union are trying to buy. He is also providing much needed leadership to the entire crew force to have the courage to stand up for what we have earned.
The union might want to take note of what leadership and integrity looks like. Their epic failure might actually result in unifying the crew force against the yes Votes, the NC and this inadequate TA. The fact the union delivered us this sugar coated sh*tball was bad enough, but by actively suppressing the minority report and trying to sell us this bad deal they are adding insult to injury. Remember no matter how much you sugar coat a sh*tball it is still a ball of sh*t!!!

60 days from Oct 20th is Dec 19th, halfway through peak. The vote does not close and results are not known until 20 Oct. The mediator cannot schedule new talks until the vote is complete. Polling by the MEC during an open vote is not allowed by ALPA policy, and I believe, Federal law. Finally, the majority of MEC members who put the TA out for a vote are not suddenly going to presume its loss before the votes are even counted. In other words, Plan B cannot start until 20 Oct. Talk on this board should focus on the opportunities or ramifications of a Plan B that culminates sometime in 2016; all else is wishful thinking.

I am sort of with Mayday. Although crudely put we all approach this from our own perspectives. I suspect behind foxhunter's backbench rabble rousing is hope for a little retroactive A Plan bump. I agree 100% with the thought that the A Plan should have been fixed. 2006 and 2011 are the contracts that should have fixed them. There was an opportunity to fix it in this TA but the mob ruled. Hopefully, next time, if the vote is no or yes we will be willing to listen to all offers.
