So this MOAB bid will have training assigned for the next few years. Will we ever get a chance to bid for our training dates, as negotiated, before the next contract? The further we go into this contract the more I realize what a turd It is!

Reading the new sec 24, conceptually it seems to based on the usual status quo around here of all the training letters ending pretty much at the same time going into the next bid. The way I read it, it's probably a better deal for us in general to use the current 24 until the training letters sync up. There is nothing in the new 24 that prohibits the company from denying someone a monthly training award due to new hire training, regulated age, or staffing needs of the FROM position. That's not a massive deal if the training letters are in sync as usual, but look at it now. A whole bunch of people would still be denied training slots due to new hires or staffing needs of their FROM position, i.e. just like the training letter right now, but the new 24 only allows one continuous slot denial payment per training slot (new Passover pay term). Seems like fewer people would get Passover/SDP if they used the new Sec 24 now with the letters out of sync.
Also there's nothing in there that mandates how many and what type of slots the company must offer each month. So let's say someone is going from the 75 to the 76. That's a differences training slot and maybe the company decides not to offer any of those for awhile instead putting out ITU slots and denying people based on new hire or FROM staffing. While I think the new Sec 24 will work largely as written when things are more normal training flow wise, I don't really see a better solution right now from our POV.
