So, we are always late out of MEM, and dispatch plans with ZERO contingency, min FOD and for a slow, economical speed. In what world do they think I GAS about pushing to get there any earlier than it works out? If they GAS, they'd be putting go-fast-gas on. Talking out of two sides of their mouths.
As far as ALPA, what do you want to hear? Do you need to be TOLD to make sure you are ready and safe? If so, I see we have bigger issues and we do need ALPA to tell us to not be F'NG STUPID.

I think the issue is why don't they change show times... And yes, this affects pay and duty times.. I don't feel rushed but I do think that pairings should reflect what we are scheduled to fly! It's a revision without a revised pairing. The Union should question this because it creates a precedence!

It's rumored they expect the same from us

Captains set the tone.
If the pairings are not revised and the GT is not changed - nothing changes.
When the jet is loaded and the crew is ready, then push at Captain's discretion.
Ops normal, nothing changes regardless of the intent to push/pull 10 min early.
When the union chimes in, I'll consider an adjustment. Until then, don't expect my crew to rush because temps are high in MEM. They'll play this game during peak as well ... it's cold so people move slower so we need to push/pull 10 early as well. I don't support the precedent until my pairing reflects the change and the trip is revised.
