Couple days. They do classes every 2 weeks. If you can complete the onboarding paperwork, you could be there in 2 weeks or less considering previous employers.

that’s great to hear. No long wait for sims? Also, can new hires expect the Phenom 300 no matter what?

Depends on what “long” means…

You can expect Chally, Legacy, Phenom…

They assign aircraft based on company need. You can expect to upgrade to the Phenom unless you bypass it for a couple of years, but as an SIC all aircraft types are assigned.

Indoc

I'm a couple months out from starting (I have to retire from military first ;-) ), but I heard today that my Indoc will be in Cleveland. So if that is in Cleveland (vs Dallas), then after that I will only go to Dallas if that is where the sim for my assigned aircraft is?

You’ll go to CGF for Orientation for a few days, then to DFW for Indoc. Depending on what aircraft you’re assigned, you’ll either be in DFW or MCO for ground and sim.
Welcome aboard!

I'd bet there is a 95% chance you'll do training in Orlando. They are trying to push it all to Orlando, but of course they just hired 36 pilots so they may not have enough slots when they hire that big of a number.

Just a quick update, they dropped the 250 turbine requirement (I have some, but not that much), but you still need the 1,500 and either the ATP written completed or an unrestricted ATP. I just finished interviewing in Orlando yesterday (excellent experience overall and the sim was a Lear 31a) and got called this morning. I'll be in class at the end of September and happy to be joining the team. :)

Congrats and welcome aboard. They will probably continue to drop requirements down to preferences as the candidate pool continues to shrink. Crazy to see what took me to 3300+ hrs and 1500+ turbine a few years ago now becoming half that. And even then they said I was lower time during my interview! The industry is changing quickly, that's for sure. Enjoy the good times while we've got them!
