Working At Boeing During Flight Training?
Hey everybody, I got out of the military recently and I want to have a career as a pilot. However things have been difficult as I don't really get that much from the VA in terms of money for housing, etc. which puts a strain on my wife who also works. I'm considering applying to Boeing to do what I did in the military which is test and troubleshoot various aircraft's avionics. Is working full time at Boeing while also completing instrument through commercial licenses on the weekends or after work a feasible option in your guys' opinion? Thank you.

You should be able to do that at Boeing of all places. Assuming SEA, they have a flying club on Boeing field, and I think they may pay for some training. My buddy got a PPL while working full time and he's a VP.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah and if I’m sitting and working in the cockpit of a 777 or something that would probably help later on in my aviation career

I didn’t know they would pay 100% for flight training. I thought they stopped that years ago after Upper Limit Aviation screwed the V.A....

I have a buddy who got Textron to pay for most of his ratings, and he’s a service pilot for them now... started at the company doing work on cabins.
Getting your licenses part time is an option. Your success will depend on how much effort you put into things.
