Default I hate this place....

I was suppose to take my check ride for my PPL, but it's going to be IFR all day, so now I have to wait two weeks. I'm talking about Killeen, TX

If you can't handle a delay, you're on the wrong career path.

Weather and MX delays happen, it's the nature of the beast. Learn to live with it.

You're complaining about weather in Texas! Try flight training in Ohio or anywhere in the Northern states. I've had to wait up to one month to get a check ride in. I can't imagine what UND goes through during the winter.

Ok, I guess I don't have it that bad then.

Can't be worse then three weeks in a row driving 80 miles each way to go fly a mission and having each of them canceled due to weather.

When I was working on my PPL back in 98 I was scheduled for a solo XC. The weather was great, aside from 90 cross winds at Daytona. But what about 16/34 you say? Sure the headwind was within my limits but it was race week and it was turned into a biz jet parking lot. Took me almost a month to get that one done.

This week almost every training filght was canceled due to fog. This time I was lucky and flew in the afternoon and only had to deal with flying through snow storms and icing.

This is today's wx. I'm glad I graduated already. It gets nasty in the winter.

Lets see -7 or +22 degrees? Tough decision there. I'm from Great Falls, MT. I was smart and went to Riddle where we put christmas lights on palm trees in December.

My ROTC commander would also send photos of us running on the beach in shorts and t-shirts to the UND ROTC battalion in the winter.

Both are good schools and you probably save a lot of money, but I can't stand the cold.

Having lived in upstate New York before coming to North Dakota, the winter weather here in ND is actually better, yes better, for flying than in New York. I did my PPL training at KITH and couldn't fly for the whole month of November and only once in December because of the weather. New York doesn't get as cold as North Dakota, but there's way more clouds that keep you from flying.

I'm loving the weather right now in GFK, looking pretty Christmasy around here right now. Great for going over to the Ralph and doing doughnuts in the parking lot too
