My cfii says he would rather train instrument students any day of the week and twice on sunday. He said he gets tired of the same old pattern work and continually saying "you're a little low, a little high, a little low...."

I still give a lot of that, just on the VOR and ILS approaches. But, on the flip side, it is a blast to climb up through a broken/overcast layer into the sunshine this time of year. Then you get to go back down through it and come out with a 1000 feet to go. Much more enjoyable than having to sit on the ground or dodge clouds.
