I remember getting mine cut off. I had no idea and I loved that shirt. Oh well, so worth it. I also remember sweating all over the yoke and wiping my hands on my legs. Congrats and keep at it, it is well worth it.

Just had a thorough debate about this with an MEI class, airline captain & instructor, and input from the FAA. Before getting a private pilots license, it can only be logged as "solo" not PIC.

But yes, I remember my first solo. I specifically remember climbing out while on upwind, I looked at the right seat and couldn't believe that my instructor wasn't there. It was great.

Great job and good luck!

Really? So why do a lot of logbooks have them under one heading? Interesting.

Either way, loggable or not, you WERE the PIC and congrats.

Did you solo in a 172? Were you nervous? At any rate, congratulations. Much success.

tpaRob -

Hope it was everything that you had hoped it would be. What a thrill! That was an exciting and special time - but I believe that there are many just as exciting times ahead of you!

I don't know why logbooks have both under one heading. 1 of my logbooks has two different columns: 1 for PIC and 1 for SOLO, and my other logbook has 1 for PIC and nothing for SOLO (but you can write it in because there are 2 heading columns that are blank).
