Why would anyone want to go to to that Pilot Mill ( Delta Connection so called Academy)?

DCA has good training, but it isn't worth the money. They talk down to you and do anything to take your money. Anyone considering that school should look elsewhere. They also have high altitude training for a cost of $2500.

Anything they quote you for training, double it, and you'll get the total amount of money you'll actually pay. I learned my lesson the hard way.

He still does stuff on the side for DCA.

After having lunch with him he is just like most everyone else at DCA. Its all about the money not the customer.

Stay away.

anybody who actually paid that much to get their little blue cards shouldn't be hired simply because they are bad decision makers....

The comments by ‘saabguy493’ ‘The Juice’ and ‘Gfrede1’ are right on. The academy took me for 65K back in 2006, but a year later when I was hired by ASA, they did not care where I got hours, only that I met their min’s, and that I had a good interview and sim ride. Also, be careful with FBO’s, not all are created equal. I also worked at an FBO where it was all about milking the student for money, not progress.

I go to DCA and I haven't spent anywhere near the money you guys are talking about... I know what I'm spending and I know what I'm getting, I've looked around and checked out alot of schools and sorry I really like DCA. My Instructors are great my education is amazing, nobody slides under the radar there. High standard are held though all of my training so far... I'm pleased with my decision, o String682 and anyone who decides on a school because of the "benefits" & name are kinda dumb. All I care about is the knowledge and quality I'm getting.

so what's a round about total cost from private-cfi/mei/ii? Please if you can, factor in interest on loans, and total hours -single/multi time.

Dude, I have friends in your standz department and line instructors. I just left there as an instructor last year. You cannot be that far into ALL your ratings if you say you have not broken atleast the 60K marker. Cost for me was 75K starting at inst - CFI, PVT was at another place. This was the price I paied before it turned to a cirrus fleet, where an CFII ADD-On was quoted already at close to 7gs and no one in my class spent uner 9gs for it. Last time I had coffee with my buddies their they told me the cost has gone up over all. Now I am not saing it is not worth it, after all I drive an CRJ now but don't say DCA doesnt cost as much as these ppl say it does. At the end of the day, anyone who goes through the progam will pay out ATLEAST 75K Pvt-MEI (under old program) and that would be if you are a superstar.
