Flying in Florida certainly is risky business.... I personally have witnessed two (2) mid-airs around our airport. I've personally had dozens of very close calls....mostly not student traffic ...but rather old people traffic in their mooneys and bonanzas...

The radio is great and def. a tool to use... but with all of these pancake breakfasts flights in the RVs and such (who never use a radio period) and whose sectionals expired 24 years ago..... nothing beats your eyeballs. At uncontrolled airports you have to be prepared for anything, head on a swivel.

I'm suprised there aren't more mid-airs.

OK Sqwkvfr - I give up. I agree with everything you say but suggest adding more and you still seem like you would rather argue.
Good luck out there - and as we like to say - keep your head on a swivel.

Too long, don't want to, and I agree with USMCFlyer, it's all subjective. Just like teaching styles.
