Work, as in fly? Ha just go to your local mom and pop flight school. Regionals don't care about where you went to school, and majors for that matter, they care about total time and experience.

Keep school separate from flying. You will already be a qualified pilot, you don't need a 4 year degree on it. Go to ASU but major in something else.

It is ASU east, but you can take alot of your non aviation classes at the tempe campus. Alot of people actually lived in tempe or the near by areas and would drive to the east campus which would only be a 15min drive using the 202.

On a side note...East campus had started up some accelerated nursing program and with that came tons of hot chicks! Not sure if its still there or not, but I bet just that one nursing program had more hot chicks then riddle has ever seen.

If I were to do it again, I would go to ASU. But then again I did and still drive down to ASU and U of A about once a month or so. But defiantly get a degree in something other than aviation.

Go to ASU. Don't bother with ERAU.

That last post is the deal breaker.

I have a semester left in the management side of the flight program at ASU, but I'm saving a ton of money by doing my flying through a local FBO. I laugh when I see how much those Mesa Pilot Development kids are paying to fly through ASU. (I also laugh when freshman show up wearing their brand new aviator sunglasses to private pilot ground school and their "I'd rather be flying" license plate frames...talk about COOL!)

No to mention, your instructors are just upper classmen with a CFI ticket still dripping with wet ink.

It doesn't matter where you get your ratings, it is about your hours and pure timing and luck. Hopefully, when you finish things will be picking up but you will be competing against a lot of high time pilots that have been furloughed in the last few years.

Go to ASU, that is a no brainer. It is much, much cheaper. You may even consider doing your flight training off campus and there are a few right at the airport, IWA. The main advantage of doing your flight training through a college or university is the financial aid. I know a lot of pilots in training had to quit because they aren't getting the loans. If you go through a university the loans are government subsidized and they are still going through. Not to mention scholarships and grants.

I suggest you minor in aviation and get your bachelors in something else. Every pilot needs a back up.

Good luck and study hard. The best pilots I know were so great because they put 100% in every flight, not because they went to the top school in the nation.

Also, UND has a satellite at the same airport as ASU East. All the ground school is through a community college, Chandler-Gilbert, and it may be another option to get your training done cheaper and get a job faster. You complete the program with an associates or the equivalent in hours. There are a lot of online degrees that you could finish while you are flying the line at a regional. UND's number is 480-988-8117. It is a much smaller program than ASU but it is well ran. I would contact UND directly for info but here is the college's website:

LOL! The sad thing is that most of the guys at Riddle would be trying to get with her because she is the only girl in the class.
