What's you plan? Do you want to be a commercial pilot or just a hobby?

Well then, I suggest you look into the academies rather than the FBOs. It's more structured than the regular mom and pop flight schools.

i am a college junior a little too late for that. my major has nothing to do with aviation (humanities) but a bachelors degree can't hurt at all right? especially when the time comes to apply for a major

A BA/BS in anything will help you land the good jobs. Stick with it, take your time getting your PPL (if that's what you have to do), and then gun it through a part 141 program someplace. Lord knows there are enough of them.

Being in collage has nothing to do with a flight academy. You dontget a degree rom a flight academy although some have agreements with online collages. But you dont have to get one. Many people go to academies after collage.

Now after saying all of that I think FBO's are a good way to do it also. Just cause its a mom and pop FBO, you stil get the same ratings and lisences, and it may not be as structured, but hey you can make your own scedule. If you want to fly 5 days a week, then schedule 5 days a week.
