I did all my training and instructing in Waco and it wasnt really an Issue at all. TSTC and CTC are both good schools. From what i saw it "Seemed" That people got finished quicker at TSTC but alot of that depends on the students also.

What's wrong with having mommy and daddy pay for school? Better than watching them blow it on a new car or something else. Some parents would rather sacrifice so their kids could work harder in class. I had a job 3yrs there working for ABC and Dell but my parents still payed tuition. I wouldn't have been able to make it otherwise. I probably would have become an engineer instead

I instruct over at TSTC. It's not so bad. That's what flight plans are for. Pre-privates just can't solo. The thing that sucks here lately is the crappy weather, at least for pre-privates anyway. My IFR guys are racking up the actual.

This is true for some. A few friends of mine got everything handed to them and are just as passionate about flying as I am. I had to student loan my way through while working full time. Others are there because daddy or mommy are pilots as well and want their kids to do the same when really all little johnny wants to do is go to culinary school or play video games. These guys are the hardest to get motivated.

Any updates on the program at Central Texas College? I had my heart set on transferring to OU, but now I'm thinking this is huge bargain for essentially the same ratings and I won't have to pay out of state tuition. The sucky part is obviously I will miss the chance to ever experience a division 1 major university.... I have to decide by next spring which school I'm going to.

My mom and dad are well off, but they aren't paying for S*!T, and the ol' man is a pilot with 6K hrs of PIC time in the last airplane he flew. I'm proud of the fact that all the education that I have, and will have, and the licenses I'm about to complete is because I busted my rear to get, all with living on my own.
I was watching "everest: beyond the limit" last night on the discovery channel. There was these 2 kazak climbers that wanted to summit with out the aid of O2. 2 sherpas where sent up to help rescue them, and bring em O2 bottles. The climbers refused the O2 saying that they wanted to summit with out O2. They came back down hours later nearly dead, but they did it. That's how I relate it. I'm trying to summit everest with out O2! I may nearly be dead, but at least I did it the way I wanted to. (with out my parents help)
